Talenti Neodiplomati PROJECT EXPERIENCE
Since I was child I dreamed about Australia, don't ask me why because unfortunately I don't have the right answer. I've been there when I was 4 years and was love at first sight.
During my last year of high school I had the amazing opportunity to do an internship in Slovenia in an InterContinental Hotel. I won a scholarship for a project that consist of 12 weeks living and working abroad sponsored by European Union.
Before to come, I was so excited because for me this project meant reaching a small step of my "stairway to Australia".
On my first work day I was disoriented, because I never worked in hotel of high level and the first thing that I noticed was how many departments it has.
My department was Club Lounge, that who doesn't know is a relaxing Lounge where the guest that pay extra money can do breakfast, dinner, check-in, check-out or simply enjoy a coffe or a glass of wine without any stressful noise.
These months was amazing. I had the opportunity to learn new way to work, improve my english knowledge.
Co-workers were fantastic, they always treated my as an employe and not only as student, they always tryed to give me their knowledge and they shared with me their skills in a way that I can do it mine.
In this envoiroment I found not only co-workers but also friends, they always tryed to make me smile when I had a problem and they helped me in every situation that I needed it.
During this experience I recieved a lot of of compliments, from guests and from the Club Staff, this makes me happy and proud. I really enjoed the time passed there and I hope to meet all of the Staff again.
Also I really enjoyed the city,it's really beautiful expecially the old part along the river, you can easily walk to everywhere without any problem, everyone there speak english and this thing suprised me and for that reason I never had a problem to comunicate and understan.
I recommend to all young people to make an experience abroad or far from home because first of all it helps to improve yourself and then to improve English, to learn from different cultures and, of course to gain longlife friendships.
